Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all of you, wherever you are.

Happy Christmas to all my readers! For your amusement, I’ve attached this truly awful ChatGPT Christmas card. I don’t think many graphic designers will be worried about their jobs just yet, at least based on this attempt1. I will come back some time soon to give my two cents on generative AI (not that there’s much of a military theme, although that hasn’t stopped me before).
I’ve given myself a break from ranting (I’m giving you all a break, really) this week as I instead carry an experiment to see just how many calories and how little work one person can consume in a short period of time. I’ll keep you all appraised of the results, if I make it through. Honestly, the things I do for you, dear readers.
In the meantime, I’ll let you ponder the age-old question: is Die Hard a Christmas movie?

Please let me know what you think, along with your favourite ridiculous use of explosives in the film.
Otherwise, please enjoy the holiday, which I hope is generous for you. Wherever you are, I hope you can enjoy some good food, fine wine, and festive cheer with friends and family. Thanks for all your support this year, and I look forward to bringing you more Military Realism in 2025.
- To be fair, my instructions were very basic: “Create a Christmas card image with a military theme” I was going to refine and iterate it, do some proper prompt engineering etc., but I just enjoyed how awful the result was that I decided to share it raw. ↩︎
