Taking an unscheduled break from Warhammer 40,000.

Hi there. I was hoping to spend this week’s post talking about melee weapons in Warhammer 40,000, as a follow-on to last week’s post.

Unfortunately, unexpected events at home have put paid to this, and we’ll need to wait.

In the meantime, if you’re stuck for reading material, I can give you some recommendations.

For your Warhammer weapon-related needs, Frank over at Frank Tank Rants took a sledgehammer to some of the misconceptions that the series perpetuates. A great read.

Another blogger whose stuff I’ve been enjoying again recently is Brett Devereaux at ACOUP. Specifically, I’ve been re-reading and enjoying his operational smack-down critique of The Battle of Helm’s Deep from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. It’s an eight parter so there’s plenty of reading in there.

It’s about the time of year that we do our annual binge of the LOTR trilogy, and Devereaux’s commentary gives you a fresh perspective to enjoy, appreciate, and, in select places, critique what John Tolkien and Peter Jackson created.
